Coming from a long line of Talkin’ blues songs.. I heard this form originally from Woody, Pete, Bob and Arlo ..maybe spearheaded by Christopher Allen Bouchillion or earlier by a non-recorded person.. I’ve always used the lightning rod technique with songwriting.. one night in March 2019 I had enough fear and wanted to bring some much-needed levity to tough & scary situation.

Ladies and gentlemen listen to me
If you wanna stop the spread of disease
Use the crook of your elbow when you sneeze
And please please please heed the words of the CDC and the big cheese

Your mask ain’t gonna help you too much
Cause you ain’t gonna quarantine your mind
It’s just another thing we gotta get through
And hopefully we’ll be fine
Been through it before but by all means buy up all the disinfectant at the store

Ebola, Bird flu, sars and swine buying up all the sanitizer standing in the grocery store line coughing
Getting weird looks cause your eyes are real red they don’t know you’re just stoned outta yer head

Cholera, polio, measles, mumps
Don’t go out on the town if you’re feelin down in the dumps
Don’t shake hands, fist bump
And listen to the calming words of president trump

We don’t need doctors we don’t need science
We’ve got an expert of our own Vice President Mike Pence
As long as yer good with god you’ll be okay
Cause we’re all gonna pray this thing away

So the stores all out of toilet paper go ahead and use your socks
Or get a bidet and come judgement day you’ll have the cleanest rump in world when the grim reaper knocks
It’ll be sparkling, immaculate, talk of the town
What a rectum!

It don’t come from the beer or the Chinese buffet
You gotta protect yourself from fear and from the people who say the news told me to go in self quarantine form covid 19 get an AR-15 and 3 stacks of Lima beans and never to come out!

Abstain from making out with international tourists
Bathe yourself in purell all of you purists
Make those plans, wash your hands
Keep your head, cause virus or not someday we’re all gonna end up dead
